The Motor City Tattoo Museum started as my private collection of tattoo memorabilia. After 38 years of tattooing professionally and a few years of serious collecting, I had accumulated quite a mass of historical stuff. A good portion of my collection focuses on tattoo machines. Much of my collection has been donated or traded for with other collectors, including almost all of the modern machines in the artifacts pages. So a big thank you out to Dana Brunson, Paul Ramsbottom, Larry Hanks, Brett Stewart, Sailor Chris and the numerous machine builders I've traded with over the years. My museum would be weak without your generosity.
Stored boxes are "hoarding". A "collection" is displayed. So I remodeled part of my tattoo shop to display my collection. The artifacts on this site are the results.
A building, place, or institution devoted to the acquisition, conservation, study, exhibition, and educational interpretation of objects having scientific, historical, or artistic value.
I think that pretty much summarizes me
and my passion for tattooing and it's roots pretty well indeed!
Enjoy your visit.
